The Lucrative Business of
Mobile Auto Detailing

Mobile auto detailing has become a very lucrative business. In todays busy world, people want to have clean and shiny cars, but they just don't have time to do it. Providing a service that will clean and protect a vehicle while a person is at work, or at their home is something people will pay for.

Providing a mobile detailing service can be an expensive venture to undertake. With equipment such as pressure washers, water tanks, multiple products for washing and waxing and other such equipment. It is then necessary to have a vehicle that will hold all of this equipment. Getting started can involve an investment of thousands of dollars. It will take quite a few detailing jobs just to recoup your investment.

If you are in areas where there is hard water, such as in many areas of the southwest, you must also make sure you have a source of soft water. Hard water with lots of minerals will leave water spots on the finish that can be difficult and time consuming to remove. It may also permanently ruin the finish. In some communities, it may be illegal to wash vehicles commercially without having a means to ensure the water stays out of storm drains.

There are many opportunities for mobile auto detailers today. As an auto detailer, you can detail cars at:

office complexes

industrial complexes

apartment complexes

individual residences

But you are not limited to auto detailing. RV detailing is another great avenue for the detailer. Most RV parks do not allow washing of RV's with the parks water. That means that RVers must have someone come in to wash and wax their rigs. Most of these detailers will use pressure washers that will push the dirt along the finish and have an abrasive effect. You can offer a better service and make an RV look like new again with waterless cleaning products.

Another area that may be of interest is aircraft detailing. Cleaning planes can be a very costly event. The aircraft must be moved from its parking spot to a wash rack and then returned after washing. The plane owner must pay to have the aircraft moved. They often must also pay to rent the wash rack. This can add up to a substantial amount of money. With Dri Wash 'n Guard® Waterless Car Wash™ the aircraft can be cleaned in place. There are some sensitive areas on aircraft that require special attention. It is a good idea to get some training in aircraft detailing before taking on your first job.
